OUR STORY

Our coffee fields are in MINCA, a village in Santa Marta, Colombia, nestled at the foot of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

This is where mountainous conditions and the influence of the warm Caribbean breeze come together, making it the perfect place for a unique experience of flora and fauna, yielding great tourism and productivity for the community.

Located in the magical department of Magdalena, specifically in the Vereda del Oriente of a small but fruitful district called Minca, which is located in the beautiful Pearl of the Caribbean, that is, the city of Santa Marta.

You’ll be able to visit us soon! And enjoy a tour of our plantations, where you’ll learn about the coffee cultivation and harvesting process, tasting it with the backdrop of the sunrise over the Sierra.

Unlike coffee farms in the interior of the country, our process is completely natural because we cultivate under shade. How so?…

When you look at the Sierra’s crops, you don’t see coffee plants. Why?…

Because instead of using pesticides and fertilizers as is normally done, here we choose to plant our coffee under the shade of guamo trees, naturally aiding cultivation while creating a vegetative layer that enriches the soil with minerals and nutrients.

Tasajera is a district of the municipality of Pueblo Viejo, in the department of Magdalena, plagued by poverty and facing a great paradox today: Its inhabitants are surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and the Ciénaga Grande, but they don’t have freshwater to drink; saltwater abounds, but freshwater is almost an illusion.

These humble homes, some built on stilts, where dirt and gray color dominate, have never had access to piped water, and water arrives in tanker trucks once a week.
